45 New Students (30 Middle School, 15 High School)
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City is recruiting new students for the ‘Busan Area Information Security Gifted Education Center’ for middle and high school students in the Busan area from February 16 to March 8.
The ‘Information Security Gifted Education Center’ was temporarily operated as the ‘Yeongnam Area Information Security Gifted Education Center Busan Camp’ in 2022 to nurture future local talents in the increasingly important field of information security. It achieved the result of all 45 enrolled students completing the program. In October 2022, it received installation approval from the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education and will be officially operated as the ‘Busan Area Information Security Gifted Education Center’ starting this year.
Through regular operation, Busan City and the operating institution, Pukyong National University, plan to conduct an annual gifted education curriculum as well as various programs such as participation in information security competitions hosted by other organizations and visits to companies related to information security.
The ‘2023 Busan Area Information Security Gifted Education Center’ will recruit a total of 45 students, with one high school class and two middle school classes, each class consisting of 15 students.
Starting with the announcement on the 16th, applications can be submitted from February 16 to March 8 by 5 p.m. through the Gifted Education Comprehensive Database, email, or regular mail (to 45 Yongso-ro, Nam-gu, Busan, Pukyong National University Daeyeon Campus Nuri Hall (Department of Computer Engineering office)).
After document screening and interviews, the final successful candidates will be announced on March 24.
Classes will be held every other Saturday from April to November at Pukyong National University, with intensive training from July 31 to August 4. Tuition is completely free, and outstanding students will receive certificates and prizes.
