HDC Hyundai Development Company Signs Business Agreement with LG Electronics to Strengthen IoT

[Asia Economy Reporter Onyu Lim] HDC Hyundai Development Company has strengthened its Internet of Things (IoT) services to enhance convenience for I-Park residents.

HDC Hyundai Development Company announced on the 16th that it has signed a business agreement with HDC Labs and LG Electronics to develop an IoT platform service.

Through this business agreement, I-Park residents will be able to control LG Electronics' home appliances via the 'I-Park Home' application. In particular, not only LG Electronics' built-in appliances within each unit but also LG ThinQ-compatible home appliances purchased separately by residents can be linked. A representative from HDC Hyundai Development Company stated, "The LG Electronics home appliances that can be linked include major appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and dryers, and we plan to gradually increase the number of linked devices to include small and medium-sized appliances that add convenience to daily life, such as water purifiers and dehumidifiers."

HDC Hyundai Development Company plans to complete the linkage work for major appliances and finish service development by the third quarter. From the fourth quarter, after pilot operations in some complexes, the service will be expanded to newly occupied complexes as well as existing completed complexes, allowing more I-Park residents to use the service.

A representative from HDC Hyundai Development Company said, "We expect that the development of IoT services through this business agreement will further enhance connectivity between I-Park residents and their units, maximizing customer convenience," adding, "We will continue to promote various services to improve convenience for I-Park customers."

Meanwhile, HDC Hyundai Development Company also plans to complete within the first half of the year the service developed in cooperation with Samsung Electronics in 2021 for linking the IoT appliance platform SmartThings with I-Park Home. Through this, I-Park residents will be able to link both LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics home appliances, enabling control of a wider variety of home appliances within the I-Park Home app.
