[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Daejeon city government will implement a rainwater storage tank installation support project this year.

According to the city on the 16th, the project is being promoted to encourage water reuse in buildings, single-family homes, and multi-family housing.

The core of the project is to recycle collected rainwater for landscaping and cleaning purposes, and the city will support up to 90% of the installation costs for rainwater utilization facilities (rainwater storage tanks) through this project.

Eligible applicants are buildings with a roof area of less than 1000㎡, apartments or row houses with less than 10,000㎡ of building area and 50 or more households.

Support will be provided up to 10 million KRW for buildings with a roof area under 1000㎡, and up to 20 million KRW for apartments or row houses with 50 or more households (but with building area under 10,000㎡).

Applications can be submitted by visiting the Water Quality Improvement Division at City Hall in person or by registered mail (must arrive by the deadline) from the 23rd to the 28th of next month.

The city will conduct on-site inspections regarding rainwater utilization, collection capacity, installation conditions, and publicity effects, followed by a review by the Water Circulation Committee, and will finalize and individually notify subsidy recipients by May.

For detailed information such as eligibility, application guidelines, and support conditions, please refer to the city’s website or contact the Water Quality Improvement Division at City Hall.

Park Pil-woo, head of the Water Quality Improvement Division, said, “We hope many citizens will participate in installing rainwater storage tanks to practice water reuse and water conservation.”
