[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Haitai Confectionery announced on the 16th that it has launched 'Gohyangmandu Myeon Gyoja,' dumplings made by shaping various noodle dishes from around the world into dumplings.

The first offerings are Jjamppong and Samseon Udon, representative noodle dishes from Chinese cuisine. The noodles are made from dumpling wrappers, and the ingredients and broth are made from the dumpling filling. The texture of the noodles was created by finding the perfect ratio to replicate the chewiness of Jjamppong noodles and Udon noodles using dumpling wrappers. They are thicker than Yalpi (thin-skinned dumplings) but thinner than the original Gohyangmandu, preserving the texture of Chinese-style noodles. The Jjamppong dumplings feature yellow noodles colored with natural turmeric powder, while the Samseon Udon dumplings are white, realistically expressing the color of the noodles.

The ingredients that blend with the noodles are included in the dumpling filling. A variety of vegetables, domestic pork, and squid?an essential ingredient in both Jjamppong and Samseon Udon?are generously added to enhance the seafood flavor. The dumpling filling also has a special broth flavor. The spicy Jjamppong Myeon Gyoja has the heat of Cheongyang chili peppers, giving it a sharp yet clean taste. The Samseon Udon Myeon Gyoja is designed for children who are not accustomed to spicy flavors and adults who prefer mild tastes, adding plenty of egg and pepper?key ingredients of Samseon Udon?to the meat, seafood, and vegetable mix for a savory flavor.

A Haitai official said, "Myeon Gyoja is a premium gyoza dumpling that combines the original technology of Gohyangmandu, built over 36 years, with new flavors," and added, "We plan to continuously release various Myeon Gyoja dumplings featuring diverse noodle dishes from around the world."
