Fire Agency Conducts Joint Special Inspection on Public Service Discipline During Seol Holiday Period

Establishing Discipline Among Public Officials and Maintaining Constant Readiness for Deployment

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The National Fire Agency announced on the 16th that it will conduct a special inspection of public service duties at 253 fire agencies nationwide until the 27th to eradicate cases of lax public service discipline during the Lunar New Year holiday period.


The National Fire Agency and inspection personnel from each city and provincial fire headquarters will form joint inspection teams and conduct special inspections divided into six regions.

This special inspection will focus on ▲ hospitality and bribery during the holiday period, unfair pursuit of private interests, and power abuse illegal receipt of overtime pay and false business trips, and other violations of duty readiness for dispatch and security management status of fire stations.


Additionally, through communication with frontline field personnel, opinions such as grievances and suggestions will be heard, and improvement plans will be prepared to enhance the completeness of fire policies.


Meanwhile, ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, the National Fire Agency is leading a campaign called ‘No Giving or Receiving Gifts’ to foster a clean organizational culture.


Ko Young-guk, the Audit Officer of the National Fire Agency, stated, “Through this special inspection, we plan to correct improper practices and take strict measures against detected misconduct,” adding, “As the frontline institution protecting the lives and property of the people, we will strive to create a trustworthy, clean, and transparent fire service organizational culture.”
