[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has issued a 'Integrity Advisory' to all county office employees until the end of January to establish public service discipline in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Integrity Advisory is a policy issued around corruption-prone periods such as holidays to eradicate violations of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act and the Code of Conduct for Public Officials, raising awareness and encouraging public officials to voluntarily practice integrity.
This Integrity Advisory includes prohibitions on receiving money, entertainment, gifts, etc. from job-related persons during the Lunar New Year period, refraining from face-to-face business meetings including meals with job-related persons, and preventing delays or neglect in public administration exploiting the holiday, thereby preemptively blocking factors harmful to integrity and promoting the spread of an integrity culture.
Along with this, the county plans to send letters on integrity to local construction companies and others in the area during the Lunar New Year and actively request cooperation to spread the culture of integrity.
A county official stated, “We will do our best to create a clean public service culture through preventive measures such as issuing the Integrity Advisory,” and added, “We will continue ongoing integrity activities to build a trusted Hamyang-gun among residents.”
