Lunar New Year Holiday Approaching... Credit Card Companies Focus on Discounts

Samsung, NH Nonghyup, Hyundai, and Others Offer Discounts Online and Offline

According to the industry on the 15th, Samsung Card is offering up to 500,000 KRW worth of Shinsegae gift certificates or instant discounts when purchasing Lunar New Year gift sets with Samsung Card until the 22nd.

Specifically, Emart offers up to 40% instant discounts, and at Traders Wholesale Club, a 20% instant discount is available on Hanwoo beef set promotional products purchased by the 15th. At Homeplus, customers who purchase Lunar New Year gift sets with Samsung Card by the 23rd can receive up to 500,000 KRW in Homeplus gift certificates or instant discounts. However, the quantity of promotional gift sets is limited, and discount benefits cannot be combined. Additionally, Samsung Card’s members-only online shopping mall, 'Samsung Card Shopping,' is holding a Lunar New Year gift special event until the 16th.

NH Nonghyup Card is also conducting various online and offline discount events. At Nonghyup Mall, customers using NH Nonghyup personal cards (Chaeum) can receive up to 20% instant discounts on Lunar New Year gift sets and other promotional products purchased by the 18th. Using NH Pay at Market Kurly also allows customers to purchase Lunar New Year gift set special event products at up to 20% discounted prices.

Major marts are also running instant discount and gift certificate giveaways. Until the 22nd, when paying with NH Nonghyup personal cards (Chaeum) at Emart, Homeplus, and Lotte Mart, customers can receive instant discounts on Lunar New Year gift sets and gift certificates based on the payment amount. Hyundai Card is conducting discount and cashback events both online and offline throughout this month. When purchasing Lunar New Year gift sets at Emart, customers can receive up to 40% on-site discounts and Shinsegae gift certificates worth up to 1.5 million KRW depending on the payment amount. Major online shopping sites such as Tmon, AK Mall, and Market Kurly offer up to 20% discounts. Eight major home shopping channels including Hyundai H Mall, CJ Mall, NS Home Shopping, GS Home Shopping, Home&Shopping, Lotte Home Shopping, Shinsegae TV Shopping, and SK Stoa also provide up to 10% discounts.

There are also benefits exclusively for members of Hyundai Card’s premium membership program 'Good Friendship,' launched last month. Through ‘3rd Floor Gifts,’ Hyundai Card’s personalized benefits platform, members can receive a 150,000 KRW discount coupon for purchasing The Brew on the Balmuda website and a 30% discount coupon for Coffee Mill.
