Gwangju Seobu Fire Station Conducts Night Patrol for Fire Prevention

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Western Fire Station will conduct night patrols until the 28th of next month to prevent safety accidents in traditional markets, which are vulnerable to fires during the winter season.

The Western Fire Station visited traditional markets over the weekend of the 14th and 15th to establish a proactive prevention system against various safety accidents such as electricity and gas.

Additionally, through patrols during fire vulnerable hours, they removed fire hazard factors and obstacles in fire lanes in advance, conducting patrols in line with the direction of realizing a safe city image.

The key inspection points during patrols include ▲ early detection and removal of existing hazards within the market and follow-up management ▲ thorough fire control and guidance to prohibit large stockpiling of goods ▲ inspection of visible fire extinguishers and confirmation of their management status by market ▲ monitoring status of automatic fire alarm systems and automatic fire detection equipment.

Jo Ho-ik, Head of the 119 Disaster Response Division, stated, “To prevent large-scale fires, we will conduct more detailed and meticulous inspections and checks to do our best to ensure that no human or property damage occurs.”
