[Asia Economy Reporter Myunghwan Lee] On Saturday the 14th, the nation will be mostly cloudy with rain or snow expected in the central region and the Gyeongbuk area. Especially, heavy snowfall is forecasted mainly in the Gangwon region and the northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk.
The expected snowfall amounts until the 16th are 20?50 cm in the Gangwon mountains and northern East Coast of Gangwon, 10?30 cm in the central and southern East Coast of Gangwon and the northeastern mountains of Gyeongbuk, and 3?10 cm in the inland Gangwon and northern East Coast of Gyeongbuk. In the Gangwon mountains, snow accumulation could exceed 70 cm in some areas.
Additionally, snow will fall with amounts of 1?3 cm in Seoul, Incheon, western Gyeonggi, and northwestern inland Gyeongnam; 2?7 cm in eastern Gyeonggi, northern Chungbuk, northern Gyeongbuk, and Ulleungdo·Dokdo; and 1?5 cm in central and southern Chungbuk, eastern Jeonbuk, southwestern inland Gyeongbuk, and mountainous areas of Jeju Island.
Occasional rain is expected in the southern regions and Jeju Island.
The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between 3 and 11 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 4 and 13 degrees Celsius, which is somewhat warmer than usual. However, there may be icy patches on roads mainly inland, so caution is advised for traffic safety.
Fine dust levels are expected to be 'Good' to 'Moderate' across all regions due to smooth atmospheric dispersion and precipitation effects.
Sea waves will be 1.0?5.0 meters in the East Sea nearshore, 0.5?3.0 meters in the West Sea nearshore, and 0.5?3.0 meters in the South Sea nearshore. In the offshore seas (about 200 km from the coastline), wave heights are predicted to be 1.0?6.0 meters in the East Sea, 2.0?4.5 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0?4.0 meters in the South Sea.
