Pukyong National University Awards Total Scholarships of 20 Million Won to Multi-Reading Students

Library Mileage Scholarships Awarded to 65 Recipients

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-su) held the '2022 Academic Year Library Mileage Scholarship Award Ceremony' on the 11th.

At this scholarship award ceremony, the Pukyong National University Library awarded a total of 20 million KRW in scholarships to 65 students, including 1 student receiving the Grand Prize with 1 million KRW, 2 students receiving the Excellence Award with 800,000 KRW each, 5 students receiving the Merit Award with 500,000 KRW each, and 57 students receiving the Encouragement Award with 200,000 to 400,000 KRW each.

Since 2016, Pukyong National University has been conducting the Library Mileage Scholarship Program annually under the library's supervision to promote university library usage and reading culture, selecting outstanding students and awarding scholarships.

The Library Mileage Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students who have read many books at the library over the past year, as well as those who have actively participated in various events hosted by the library.

Mileage points are granted based on performance in borrowing print books and e-books, participation in library usage education, cultural events, surveys, reading clubs, and submission of reading reports.

Library Director Kim Cheol-soo stated, “We plan to continue the mileage scholarship program so that students can experience more reading and the library can become the most familiar space for students.”
