Yeongyang-gun, New Year's First Safety Inspection Day Campaign

Promotion Related to Fire, Cold Wave Accidents, and Safety

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk, conducted the first Safety Inspection Day campaign of the new year at 3 p.m. on the 13th at the Yeongyang-eup Administrative Welfare Center.

About 50 people, including employees from Yeongyang-gun Office, Yeongyang-eup Administrative Welfare Center, and Yeongyang-eup village chiefs, participated in the campaign to promote preventive measures against fires and cold wave accidents that frequently occur during winter.

An explanatory meeting on safety-related projects for 2023, such as the expansion of the residents' safety insurance and the distribution of portable fire extinguishers, was held to seek cooperation from related staff and village chiefs.

In the future, the county plans to promote a more substantial campaign by combining safety-related briefings, basic life support training, and various safety education sessions during the Safety Inspection Day campaigns.

County Governor O Do-chang said, “Since safety accidents such as fires mainly occur due to negligence, we ask the relevant departments to continuously provide guidance so that residents can conduct pre-inspections with vigilance even for minor risk factors,” and added, “We also ask for the active participation of all residents to achieve an accident-free Yeongyang-gun.”
