Customized Management Saves 393 Million Won in Financial Expenses

The customized medical benefit case management program "Coverage UP, Medical Expenses DOWN" was implemented to prevent unnecessary use of medical benefits by medical benefit recipients and to improve their health management capabilities.

According to the evaluation results of medical institution usage, the number of medical institution visits decreased by 205 (27%), and the total medical expenses decreased by 393 million KRW (42%), resulting in approximately a 70% reduction in both the number of medical institution visits and medical expenses for the total management targets compared to the previous year.
Additionally, 30 outstanding individuals?15 each for the number of medical institution visits and medical expenses?were selected and given incentives (prizes) to encourage rational use of medical institutions.
Professional medical benefit managers categorize new recipients, frequent outpatient users of medical institutions, long-term inpatients, and intensive management groups by type, and conduct personalized medical benefit case management through one-on-one phone and visit consultations, thereby reducing medical benefit finances annually.
A county official stated, "We will do our best to stabilize medical benefit finances and ensure that medical benefit recipients receive appropriate medical services to lead healthy lives."
