[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] Hyundai Motor Group unveiled the mobile counseling mobility ‘iCAREcar’ on the 13th, which incorporates Digital Therapeutics (DTx) to help treat children who have suffered abuse.

The interior of the iCAREcar, based on the Hyundai Staria, was developed in a form optimized for psychological counseling. Five companies, including Hyundai Motor, Kia, Hyundai Mobis, Hyundai AutoEver, and 42dot, a Hyundai Motor subsidiary, participated to apply various mobility technologies.

The vehicle was donated to the global child rights NGO Good Neighbors on the 11th and deployed in the field. With this donation, it became possible to support the psychological healing and stability of abused children, as well as provide home visit counseling and safe transportation.

The technologies applied to the ‘iCAREcar’ and utilized in Digital Therapeutics (DTx) include three representative types: immersive display technology, multi-speaker separated AI voice recognition technology (SSR, Smart Sound Recognition), and brainwave-based stress measurement technology.

Digital Therapeutics (DTx) is a next-generation treatment method that incorporates digital technologies such as mobile apps, AR/VR (augmented reality), and artificial intelligence in various ways to prevent, manage, and treat diseases. It is currently a highly regarded medical field in the bio industry due to its advantage of being easily accessible anytime and anywhere by anyone.

Along with the vehicle unveiling, the campaign video ‘Heals on Wheels: iCAREcar,’ which documents the development and psychological counseling process, was also released on the 13th.

Meanwhile, since 2015, Hyundai Motor Group has produced ‘Technology Idea Campaign’ videos that showcase the valuable social use of mobility for humanity, gaining sympathy and acclaim both domestically and internationally. ‘Heals on Wheels’ is the sixth project in this series.
