[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] Samsung Electronics is taking the usability of smartphone cameras to the next level with the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Watch.

Samsung Electronics announced that starting from the 13th, it will implement software updates for the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Z Flip4·Fold4 to enable 360-degree sound recording during smartphone video shooting. Additionally, through software updates for the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 series, a feature allowing remote zooming in and zooming out of the smartphone camera will be added.

Samsung Electronics supports the 360 audio recording feature through software updates for the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Z Flip4·Fold4.

When wearing the Buds2 Pro and shooting videos with the connected Z Flip4·Fold4 in a bustling event venue or in the middle of a forest filled with bird songs and water sounds, the shooter can record vivid immersive sound exactly as they hear it through the connected Buds2 Pro.

This is because the microphones located on both sides of the Galaxy Buds2 Pro capture 360-degree sound. Without professional equipment, anyone can record high-quality, realistic audio in videos anytime and anywhere.

In particular, the 360 audio recording applies LE Audio (Low Energy Audio), the next-generation Bluetooth audio technology standard. LE Audio technology provides richer and more delicate sound, smooth connectivity, and improved battery life.

To enhance smartphone camera usability, Samsung Electronics is adding camera zoom in and zoom out functions to the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 series.

This feature is scheduled to be added to the existing Watch Camera Controller app in February. Currently, the app allows photo shooting, viewing taken photos, switching shooting modes, and setting timers.

Users will be able to remotely control the zoom of the Galaxy smartphone camera by pinching the watch screen with their fingers or by rotating the watch bezel.

This allows users to easily adjust the zoom level directly from their wrist without having to walk back to the camera when taking group photos or solo selfies with the smartphone placed at a distance.

This feature will be available in conjunction with smartphones supporting One UI 5.1 software. Applicable models and detailed timing will be announced later.

A Samsung Electronics official said, "Samsung Electronics will provide an enhanced camera experience through interconnection among Galaxy products," adding, "More details related to the new Galaxy smartphone will be introduced at the Galaxy Unpacked event on the 1st of next month."
