The Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office stated in the afternoon, "The Food and Drug Crime Investigation Department has been conducting search and seizure operations at nine locations, including the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, since around 9:35 AM."

Regarding the reason for the search and seizure, they only stated, "It is related to issues concerning the approval of clinical trials for pharmaceuticals."

In connection with this, the industry estimates that the search and seizure was initiated to investigate problems in the approval process of COVID-19 treatments and vaccines.
