Expectations for Resolving Neighbor Disputes Such as Property Rights and Boundary Conflicts
[Agoheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam Goheung-gun (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 12th that it will conduct a comprehensive survey of individual non-conforming land parcels by the end of September this year to protect the property rights of residents and resolve inconveniences caused by boundary disputes.
Individual non-conforming land parcels refer to fewer than 10 consecutive land parcels where the actual status of the land does not match the cadastral records. Goheung-gun and the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation will collaborate to form investigation teams, verification teams, and support teams to carry out the survey.
Among approximately 280,000 land parcels subject to investigation, Goheung-gun will prioritize surveying parcels with severe non-conformity that have caused boundary dispute complaints or where landowners have applied for investigation. They plan to finalize the scope of the cadastral re-survey project using cadastral registration details and aerial photographs.
A Goheung-gun official stated, “The cadastral re-survey project will not only resolve non-conforming land parcels but also increase land use value through land regularization, reduce socio-economic costs such as boundary disputes between neighbors, and contribute to protecting residents’ property rights.” He added, “We ask for the active participation and cooperation of landowners to ensure the smooth progress of the cadastral re-survey project.”
