Selected for the Renewable Energy Supply Convergence Support Project Competition for 3 Consecutive Years
[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] On the 12th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has achieved the distinction of being selected for the "2023 New Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project" contest hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (Korea Energy Agency) for three consecutive years.
The New Renewable Energy Distribution Convergence Support Project is a program that supports the installation of two or more types of new renewable energy sources such as solar power and solar heat in houses and commercial buildings. In 2021, it was implemented in 375 locations in Gurye-eup and Masan-myeon, and in 2022, it was carried out in 434 locations in Gwangui-myeon, Sandong-myeon, and Yongbang-myeon.
To apply for the contest project, the county previously selected consortium participating companies through its own contest in March, applied for the contest in July, and after undergoing public, in-depth, and comprehensive evaluations by the Korea Energy Agency, was finally selected. The project will be promoted in 472 locations in Muncheok-myeon, Ganjeon-myeon, and Toji-myeon with a total project cost of 3.6 billion KRW, including 1.6 billion KRW in national funds.
County Governor Kim Sun-ho said, "Recently, energy cost increases have caused many difficulties for households. Through this project, we will reduce household burdens by cutting energy costs such as electricity bills and take a step forward in transitioning to a carbon-neutral city." He added, "We plan to continuously expand the new renewable energy distribution project so that local residents can receive more benefits."
