[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Wook] Miryang City in Gyeongnam Province is implementing the 365 Safe Ward Project at Miryang Hospital and Miryang Yun Hospital to address social issues arising from changes in social structures such as the increase in dual-income couples and to reduce the burden of caregiving costs for patients and their families.

In the designated hospitals for the 365 Safe Ward Project, 52 caregivers provide 24-hour caregiving services in 13 rooms with 60 beds.

The caregiving fees vary according to the support target: it is completely free for homeless patients, homeless people, and emergency medical support recipients; medical aid beneficiaries and lower-income groups pay 10,000 KRW per day; and health insurance subscribers aged 65 and older pay 20,000 KRW per day.

Jeon Jang-pyo, Director of the Health and Hygiene Division, stated, “With the implementation of the 365 Safe Ward Project, we will do our best to reduce the burdensome caregiving fees for vulnerable citizens who need hospital nursing care and ensure they receive high-quality 24-hour communal caregiving medical services.”
