Cisco "CDA to Continue Accelerating National Digital Transformation"

Cisco "CDA to Continue Accelerating National Digital Transformation" Guy Dedrick, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Innovation at Cisco, is holding a press conference on the 12th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Cisco Systems (hereinafter Cisco) continues to support digital transformation in South Korea.

On the 12th, Cisco held a press briefing at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, announcing the status of the national digital transformation support project 'CDA'. At the event, they shared the achievements and cases of CDA 1.0 (Phase 1 project) conducted over the past three years, as well as the strategy for proceeding with CDA 2.0 (Phase 2 project) in the future.

Guy Didrich, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Innovation at Cisco, stated, "It is particularly meaningful that Cisco can contribute to enhancing South Korea's reputation for having the most advanced IT infrastructure in the world with internet connectivity anytime and anywhere through the CDA program," adding, "We plan to jointly innovate and pilot advanced technology solutions aimed at promoting digitalization in South Korea."

The Cisco CDA program contributes to digital transformation through strategic cooperation with governments, companies, and institutions in each country. In South Korea, it has been implemented since February 2020, focusing on areas such as 5G networks, smart campuses, and cloud.

As a key example, Cisco strengthened defense network infrastructure in collaboration with KT. Together with E-Tech Systems, Cisco established a laboratory capable of demonstrating the next-generation Defense Broadband Integrated Network (M-BcN) private investment project and supported KT in verifying equipment necessary for the Ministry of National Defense's optical network platform.

Cisco also supported enhancing corporate competitiveness through cooperation with Naver Cloud. The two companies jointly developed and sold various cloud solutions and business models, completing tasks such as ▲joint development and sales of cloud calling solutions to build smart remote work environments ▲application of Cisco Nexus switches in hyperscale data centers ▲listing Cisco Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions on the Naver Cloud Marketplace.

Building on these successful cases, Cisco plans to promote CDA 2.0 to continuously support digital transformation in South Korea. This project will focus on sustainability and environmental sectors, public sector innovation, digitalization in manufacturing, and nurturing future IT talent.

Choi Ji-hee, CEO of Cisco Korea, said, "We are pleased to have achieved meaningful results over the past three years through close collaboration with the government, companies, and institutions based on Cisco's technology and know-how through CDA 1.0," adding, "Going forward, Cisco will continue to contribute to realizing the government's Digital New Deal as an IT leader and strive to grow together with domestic companies and institutions."

Meanwhile, the Cisco CDA program, first implemented in France in 2015, is currently underway in 48 countries with over 1,400 projects. Through the CDA program, Cisco is jointly developing and investing in applications and cross-architecture technology verification in various fields such as healthcare, education, industrial IoT, and smart utilities.
