Daughter Found with Corpse Inside Home, Urgently Arrested

A skeletonized body was found in a villa in Incheon. The police arrested a woman in her 40s who was with the body and launched an investigation.

On the 12th, the Namdong Police Station in Incheon announced that they had urgently arrested and were investigating Ms. A (47) on suspicion of abandoning a corpse.

Ms. A is suspected of leaving the body of Ms. B (79), presumed to be her mother, in the master bedroom of a villa in Ganseok-dong, Namdong-gu, Incheon.

The police responded to a report from Ms. B’s fourth daughter, who said, "I came home because I couldn't contact my mother, but my sister who lives with her won't open the door," at around 10:19 p.m. the previous day, and discovered Ms. B’s body inside the villa.

At the time of discovery, the body was covered with a blanket, and Ms. A was also inside the house. Among the four daughters, Ms. A, the third daughter, was confirmed to have been living alone with her mother.

The police found a memo on A4 paper at the house stating, "Mom died in August 2020," and requested an autopsy from the National Forensic Service to determine the exact time and cause of death.

A police official stated, "The discovered body is strongly presumed to be Ms. B, but the exact identity is also being confirmed," and added, "We are investigating the specific circumstances with Ms. A."
