[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Father Kang Jeon-yong (55, photo) Mateo has been appointed as the new director of Catholic University Daejeon St. Mary's Hospital.
According to Daejeon St. Mary's Hospital on the 12th, the new director Kang will hold an inauguration ceremony on the 19th at the Sangji Hall auditorium within Daejeon St. Mary's Hospital and officially begin his duties.
Ordained as a priest in 1998, Director Kang majored in Canon Law at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome, Italy, and conducted missionary work in South America, Ecuador, for nine years.
He also served as assistant priest at Yongjeon-dong Cathedral and Nonsan Buchang-dong Cathedral, vocation-dedicated priest at the Vocations Office of the Catholic Diocese of Daejeon, pastor of Sanseong-dong Cathedral, administrative vice director of Catholic University Daejeon St. Mary's Hospital, and pastor of Daesadong Cathedral as well as Central District chief.
