‘A City of Equality Where Both Women and Men Are Happy, Busan’ … Mayor Park Hyung-jun Attends Busan Women's New Year Meeting

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Park Hyung-jun, Mayor of Busan, will attend the '2023 Busan Women's New Year Meeting' held at 3 PM on the 12th in the Grand Ballroom on the 1st floor of the Komodo Hotel to communicate with female leaders from various sectors in the region.

Hosted by the Busan Women's Family Development Institute and co-organized by five women's organizations' councils, the 'Busan Women's New Year Meeting' is being held for the first time in three years due to COVID-19. About 200 people, including Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Ahn Seong-min, Chairperson of the Busan City Council, members of the National Assembly, city councilors, and representatives of the women's community, will attend.

Notably, Mayor Park Hyung-jun will attend accompanied by his spouse to show support for the women's community.

The event will begin with a cultural performance by the folk song group Hongui, followed by ▲welcome speeches from the heads of the five women's organizations' councils ▲delivery of New Year messages ▲New Year addresses ▲and a reception.

As female leaders gather in one place to welcome the Year of the Black Rabbit, many discussions are expected to take place aimed at creating Busan as an equal city where both women and men can be happy.

Mayor Park Hyung-jun pledged, "This year, we will focus on policies that have practical effects rather than one-time support to address various issues such as women's rights enhancement, realization of gender equality, and low birth rates," and urged, "The women's community should actively participate in promoting key projects for Busan's future."
