[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City Youth Foundation's Out-of-School Youth Support Center (hereinafter Pohang City Kkumdeulim) has completed preparations to provide meticulous integrated support services for out-of-school youth support in the new year and is starting full-scale services.
Last year, a total of 457 out-of-school youths received services through Pohang City Kkumdeulim, among whom 148 returned to academics by passing the qualification exam and entering university, and 74 out-of-school youths achieved self-reliance capabilities through entrepreneurship, employment, obtaining certifications, and self-development.
Kkumdeulim provides various services such as counseling, education, self-reliance, career support, health checkups, and meals to offer services tailored to the needs of youth, including ▲meticulous case management for rapid discovery and linkage of out-of-school youth ▲equal learning opportunities and support for obtaining qualification exam academic credentials ▲customized university admission support and youth life record support for out-of-school youth ▲self-development and certification courses to enhance self-reliance capabilities ▲career counseling, basic technical training, and workplace experience to strengthen vocational skills.
Every year, with budget support from Pohang City, specialized services for out-of-school youth (such as support for reclusive youth, university admission support, clarinet classes, etc.) are operated to deliver dreams and hope to out-of-school youth.
Yoon Youngran, CEO of the Youth Foundation, said, “This year, we will spare no effort to provide various supports tailored to the needs of youth so that out-of-school youths in the Pohang area can make greater leaps through the Kkumdeulim Center.”
Any out-of-school youth aged 9 to 24 residing in Pohang who wish to receive services such as learning support, health checkups, and job experience can apply for support.
