[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Port Authority (BPA) awarded plaques and support funds to terminal operators and carriers that actively utilized the integrated port logistics platform to revitalize the platform on the 10th.
At the awards ceremony held that day, BPA selected Busan Port Terminal as the excellent operator for using the Vehicle Booking System (VBS) the most, significantly reducing vehicle waiting times, and provided a support fund of 15 million KRW.
In the ‘VBS Activation Policy Competition’ held last December, Korea Hutchison Terminal won the grand prize, Busan Port Terminal received the excellence award, and Busan New Port was awarded the merit prize.
Also, HMM PSA New Port, Hanjin Busan Container Terminal, Lotte Global Logistics, and Hanjin, which participated in the pilot operation of the Transshipment Transport System (TSS) and achieved the target agreed upon with Busan Port Authority, were selected as outstanding participants.
A representative of Busan Port Authority said, “We expect that the activation policy of the integrated port logistics platform will further enhance Busan Port’s competitiveness by increasing terminal efficiency, reducing vehicle waiting times, and resolving port congestion,” and added, “We will continue to strive so that the majority of Busan Port users can feel the effects of using the system.”
