[Asia Economy Reporter Byun Seon-jin] On the 10th, the positive rate of arrivals from China who were tested immediately at the airport was found to be 14.7%.

According to the Central Disease Control Headquarters on the 11th, among 1,344 people who arrived at Incheon International Airport from China the previous day, 320 short-term foreign residents underwent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests at the airport testing center, and 47 (14.7%) were confirmed positive. The positive rate had been in single digits for the previous two days but jumped back to the 10% range. Despite the requirement from the 5th for arrivals from China to submit a negative COVID-19 test certificate, the fluctuating positive rate is attributed to limitations of local COVID-19 testing methods and the incubation period.

The cumulative positive rate among short-term residents tested at the airport is 17.3% (441 out of 2,550). Since the 2nd, a total of 11,146 people have arrived at the airport via China.

Meanwhile, the total number of imported confirmed cases on this day was 130, an increase of 33 from the previous day (87). Among them, 75 (62.5%) were arrivals from China, including short-term foreign residents confirmed at the airport testing center, Chinese nationals confirmed at public health centers, and long-term foreign residents.
