Kim Yong-tae: "Presidential Office, 'Resignation Declaration' Tug-of-War with Na Kyung-won... Childish"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former People Power Party Youth Supreme Council Member Kim Yong-tae criticized the presidential office's statement that it "has not heard" about Na Kyung-won's resignation from the Low Birthrate and Aging Society Committee, saying, "I don't understand why they are engaging in such a power struggle."

Former Youth Supreme Council Member Kim appeared on MBC's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' on the 11th and said, "How childish must this appear to the public and party members?"

He suggested that the presidential office is deliberately feigning ignorance despite being aware of Na's resignation. He said, "There is a possibility that it could be interpreted that way," adding, "Why would they make such statements keeping that possibility in mind? The public would find it frustrating."

Classified as part of the 'Lee Jun-seok faction,' he previously raised his voice urging Na to run for office, saying she is at a decisive 'moment of the star' for politicians. Former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok also pointed out the party's 'pro-Yoon' faction's attempts to curb Na, saying, "They have started to beat up players they think are not on their team."

Former Youth Supreme Council Member Kim said, "Whether to remain a politician who simply succumbs to such power or to become a politician who truly stands behind party sentiment, establishes party member democracy, and is evaluated accordingly depends on her own choice," adding, "Whether she grows into a greater politician or stays where she is will be determined by her own decision."

Some analysts suggest that Na's chances of running are slim because she has lost supporters after clashing with 'Yoon's mind.' In response, former Youth Supreme Council Member Kim said, "If former Representative Na runs and continues to receive high approval ratings, then many current members of the National Assembly will line up behind the leading candidate for party leader again," adding, "I don't think this is a major controversy."
