Taste and Enjoy the 'Small Festival Within the Festival'
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, will operate a local agricultural specialty product sales center for two days from the 14th to the 15th in celebration of the Winter Mugil Festival.
According to the county on the 10th, in addition to promoting the Winter Mugil Festival, a live commerce event is planned to boost consumption and activation of local agricultural specialty products. Under the theme of a small festival within the festival, activities such as garaetteok (rice cake) and roasted sweet potato experience, firewood chopping experience, and a surprise agricultural specialty product auction event will be held to add more fun and enjoyment.
This festival is expected to serve as an opportunity to revitalize the stagnant local economy and promote the consumption of agricultural specialty products, linking income to local residents and farmers, while also promoting the excellence of Muan’s agricultural specialty products to visiting tourists.
Seo Myeong-ho, Director of Agricultural Policy, stated, “To continuously promote the consumption of agricultural specialty products, we will strengthen various expos and direct trade events for agricultural specialty products in the metropolitan area, as well as actively support online sales such as TV home shopping.”
Governor Kim San said, “Last year’s Sweet Potato Mattang Festival and Mugil Festival became the starting point of the county’s representative food festivals. We hope for much interest and participation so that the local economy can be revitalized through smokeless tourism industries. We hope everyone enjoys the Winter Mugil Festival excitingly and comfortably, as if it were their hometown.”
