[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongnam police are promoting a large number of officers to the rank of Chief Superintendent, known as the "flower of the police."


On the 10th, the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency announced that five officers from the provincial police were included in the list of Chief Superintendent promotion candidates released by the National Police Agency.

According to the provincial police agency, Lee Ilsang, Head of the Traffic Safety Division, was appointed in 1992 through a special sergeant recruitment and has served as Head of the Information Security Division at Tongyeong Police Station, Head of the Security and Traffic Division at Gimhae Jungbu Police Station, Head of the Information Security Division at Masan Jungbu Police Station, and Anti-Terrorism Security Officer in the Public Safety Department of the provincial police agency.


Kwak Dongchil, Head of the Management Team, was appointed as a patrol officer in 1989, promoted to lieutenant in 2013, served as Head of the Community Safety Division at Masan Dongbu Police Station and Changwon Jungbu Police Station, and worked as Head of the 112 Comprehensive Security Situation Room Management Team and Head of the Security Investigation Management Division at the Security Investigation Department of the provincial police agency.


Lee Byungtae, Head of the Information Situation Division, was appointed as a lieutenant in 1993, served as Head of Jangyu Substation at Gimhae Seobu Police Station, Head of the Community Safety Division at Miryang Police Station, Head of the Women and Juvenile Division at Changwon Seobu Police Station, Head of Situation Team 3 at the 112 Comprehensive Situation Room, Second Division, and Head of the Education Division at the First Division, Administration Department of the provincial police agency.


Hong Seungwoo, Investigation Review Officer, was appointed as a lieutenant in 1998, promoted to captain in 2004, and to lieutenant colonel in 2014. He has served as Head of the Investigation Division at Gimhae Jungbu Police Station, Head of Investigation Unit 1, Head of the Cyber Investigation Unit, Head of the Intelligent Crime Investigation Unit, and Head of the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Investigation Unit 1 at the provincial police agency.


Park Byungjun, Head of the Investigation Unit, was commissioned as a lieutenant in 1998, promoted to captain in 2004, and to lieutenant colonel in 2014. He has served as Head of the Criminal Division at Changwon Seobu Police Station, Head of the Investigation Division at Gimhae Jungbu Police Station, and Head of the Women and Juvenile Investigation Division at the provincial police agency.


The National Police Agency announced a total of 135 officers, including five from Gyeongnam, as candidates for promotion to Chief Superintendent.


On this day, the National Police Agency explained that the proportion of general promotion candidates with field experience and expertise was expanded to about 32%, more than double the 12.6% of last year.
