Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon attended the New Year's meeting held at the Northern Gyeonggi Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the 10th and stated, "We will revitalize the dynamism of the economy to create more opportunities and provide more equitable opportunities for vulnerable groups to recover." [Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "This year will be the inaugural year for establishing the Gyeonggi Bukdo autonomous province, and we will do our best to revitalize the economy of northern Gyeonggi."

In particular, he emphasized, "Gyeonggi Bukdo, with its 3.6 million human resources and well-preserved natural environment, is the area with the greatest growth potential in South Korea," adding, "A vision and strategy suitable for Bukdo are necessary."

On the 10th, Governor Kim met with reporters covering northern Gyeonggi and said, "We will take various measures regarding preparations for establishing the Gyeonggi Bukdo autonomous province as soon as possible, creating a vision, developing strategies, gathering residents' opinions, and addressing special legislation."

He continued, "We will create a vision and strategy for northern development that includes not only the 4th industrial revolution advanced industries but also K-content and digital innovation," he emphasized.

Regarding economic policy, he said, "We will revitalize the dynamism of the economy so that entrepreneurs can operate freely," adding, "Gyeonggi Province has already reorganized its structure to create organizations leading industries that will drive South Korea's future growth."

At the New Year's meeting of the Gyeonggi Northern Chamber of Commerce held earlier, Governor Kim also stated, "Within the provincial government, we will directly communicate with entrepreneurs to provide one-stop support and ease regulations through the Semiconductor Industry Division, Bio Industry Division, AI Big Data Division, Advanced Mobility Division, and Digital Innovation Division."

He expressed his ambition, saying, "By revitalizing the dynamism of the economy to create more opportunities and providing more equitable chances for vulnerable groups to recover, I will lead Gyeonggi Province's administration this year based on these two major pillars."

About 200 people attended the New Year's meeting, including Choi Geun-soo, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Northern Chamber of Commerce, local members of the National Assembly, and entrepreneurs from northern Gyeonggi.
