[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Sejong City is promoting the supply of 12,000 public housing units in Jochiwon-eup and Yeongi-myeon. The public housing is scheduled to begin construction in 2025 and be completed by 2030.
The city announced on the 10th that it will officially proceed with the "Jochiwon-Yeongi Public Housing District Development Project" with these details.
Earlier, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport recently designated the Jochiwon-Yeongi Public Housing District under the "Special Act on Public Housing" and announced topographic maps and other documents in accordance with the "Basic Act on Land Use Regulation."
This project is being promoted to support homeownership opportunities for actual housing demanders such as young people and to stabilize the housing market.
The location of the public housing districts includes 615,909㎡ in Yeongi-ri and Botong-ri areas of Yeongi-myeon, and 875,717㎡ in Sinheung, Bongsan, and Chimsan-ri of Jochiwon-eup, as well as Wolha-ri in Yeonseo-myeon.
The city plans to supply 5,000 housing units in the Yeongi Public Housing District and 7,000 units in the Jochiwon Public Housing District.
The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) will carry out the project. The city plans to finalize the district plan next year with LH, proceed with compensation procedures, start construction in 2025, and complete the project by 2030.
