[Asia Economy Choi Seok-jin, Legal Affairs Specialist Reporter] On the morning of the 10th, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who appeared as a suspect in the 'Seongnam FC Sponsorship Fund' case at the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Seongnam Branch in Dandae-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, said, "The prosecution is abusing its investigation and prosecution rights by issuing warrants excessively through fabricated investigations aimed at eliminating political rivals," adding, "I will overcome the tyranny of the prosecution republic. I will win against the political prosecution."

The Criminal Division 3 (Chief Prosecutor Yoo Min-jong) of the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Seongnam Branch is investigating Lee as a suspect on charges including bribery under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (third-party bribery) related to the 'Seongnam FC Sponsorship Fund' allegations.
