Restaurant Customer Fires at Least 9 Shots Taking Advantage of a Gap
An incident occurred in the United States where a robber carrying a toy gun who attempted to rob a restaurant was shot and killed by a customer.
According to recent reports from foreign media including the New York Post, at around 11:30 p.m. local time on the 5th, a man carrying a firearm burst into a Mexican restaurant in Houston, Texas.
CCTV footage installed inside the store captured a scene where a robber wearing a black ski mask, black clothes, and gloves threatened customers inside the restaurant with a gun.
It was reported that there were 10 customers in the restaurant at the time. Some of the startled customers lay face down on the floor and handed over their money and wallets to the robber.
After the perpetrator collected the customers' belongings and turned toward the exit, a male customer drew a firearm he had and fired at the robber. Houston police stated that the customer fired at least nine shots, one of which hit the robber in the head. Even after the robber was shot and fell to the floor, the customer pulled the trigger several more times, and the robber eventually died on the spot.
Investigations revealed that the tool used by the robber in the crime was a 'toy gun' made of plastic. The perpetrator was identified as a man in his 20s.
The police posted a photo of the customer who shot the robber to seek public assistance in investigating the details of the incident. However, the police stated that no charges would be applied to this customer. Although the robber used a toy gun, the threat felt by the customers at the time cannot be ignored.
Meanwhile, the police have not yet identified the exact identity of the robber.
