Callaway Golf Launches Super Premium 'Great Big Bertha'

Callaway Golf has launched the super premium club series "Great Big Bertha," featuring a full lineup from drivers and fairway woods to hybrids and irons.

Callaway Golf Korea announced on the 10th that it will launch the limited edition super premium golf club series, the 'Great Big Bertha Series.'

The Great Big Bertha series is released as a full lineup including drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, and irons. The driver is designed to be ultra-lightweight to increase distance. By combining a lightweight triaxial carbon crown with a forged carbon sole and placing the saved weight lower and deeper, it enhances forgiveness (a feature that compensates for distance or direction to some extent even if the impact is not perfect through the club's inherent technology). Additionally, a steel sole plate is equipped to enable a draw bias ball flight. It also features Callaway's patented technology, the 'Jailbreak A.I. Speed Frame.' The company explains that it improves stability not only vertically but also horizontally and torsionally.

The fairway wood uses a titanium face and body, reducing the head weight by about 53% compared to conventional fairway woods. The combination of an A.I.-designed titanium face cup and the Jailbreak technology with batwing design increases ball speed across the entire face. Furthermore, the application of a triaxial carbon crown and forged carbon sole provides high forgiveness and an ideal launch angle.

The hybrid shares the same design as the driver. Its new sole design with a camber shape and convex form helps the ball escape easily from difficult lies or roughs. By adopting a titanium face and body, it reduces weight by about 100g compared to previous hybrids.

The irons are Callaway's first irons combining titanium material and the industry's leading A.I. technology for optimized performance. They feature the same power as the driver combined with the accuracy of irons. Through a multi-piece structure, the clubs are lightweight and designed to help golfers easily achieve maximum distance, according to the company. These irons have the highest titanium content among Callaway irons. The patented urethane microspheres enhance sound and provide a soft feel while delivering faster ball speed.

The Great Big Bertha is a super high-end product, with the iron set priced at 4.5 million KRW.
