Japanese Top Directors' Animation OST Concert Featuring Live Performances by Large-Scale Full Orchestra and Band

Library Company’s new film music concert, 'Japanimation OST Concert,' will be held on February 25, 2023, at 5 PM at Lotte Concert Hall.

'Japanimation OST Concert' is Korea’s first Japanese animation concert newly presented by Library Company in 2023. It features a total of 26 OST tracks from Japanese representative directors such as Hayao Miyazaki, founder of Studio Ghibli; Makoto Shinkai, director of Your Name and Weathering with You; Mamoru Hosoda, director of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time and Wolf Children, performed live by a large full orchestra and band in a film music concert.

The program of the 'Japanimation OST Concert,' currently selling very well, includes OSTs from Mamoru Hosoda’s The Boy and the Beast, which won 39 Japan Academy Awards, followed by Wolf Children, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Masayuki Kojima’s Piano no Mori, Keiichi Hara’s Colorful, Makoto Shinkai’s Weathering with You, Your Name, The Garden of Words, 5 Centimeters per Second, Studio Ghibli’s The Secret World of Arrietty, The Cat Returns, Whisper of the Heart, Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and the highly popular Attack on Titan, all performed for the first time in Korea.

The concert will be conducted by Kim Jaewon, a next-generation conductor and pianist in the classical world who recorded a full sell-out from his debut and currently serves as the artistic director of the WE Philharmonic Orchestra. He will delicately perform piano pieces such as the Main Theme of the film Piano no Mori, La Renaissance de Makoto from Colorful, and Hill Town from Whisper of the Heart. Under his baton, the collaboration between the WE Philharmonic Orchestra and WE Band, currently the most notable ensembles in the classical scene, will take place. The WE Philharmonic Orchestra, with an extensive repertoire ranging from classical to film music and crossover series, has proven its excellence by selling out every concert of Joe Hisaishi’s film music concerts. This concert, featuring a large-scale 60-member full orchestra along with the WE Band, is expected to deliver a magnificent and diverse live performance that will deeply move the audience.
