[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] 'Pro-Yoon' Yoo Sang-beom, a member of the People Power Party, stated that the possibility of Na Kyung-won, Vice Chair of the Low Birthrate and Aging Society Committee, running for office is "different from two years ago," and that the group of aides who supported her at that time are now distancing themselves from her.
On the 10th, Yoo said on MBC's 'Kim Jong-bae's Focus' that "at some point, Kim Ki-hyun's approval rating rose to 10%~15%, starting to form a trend," adding, "In this situation, it is completely different from when Vice Chair Na ran two years ago."
Vice Chair Na lost to former leader Lee Jun-seok in the party convention two years ago, but she led in the 'party sentiment' segment. However, now it is said that even gaining party sentiment is not easy.
Yoo said, "At that time, the majority of the first-term lawmakers supported Vice Chair Na. Because of that support and the persuasion of party members, Vice Chair Na was able to win the party sentiment," adding, "But now, in fact, most lawmakers have already been absorbed into the pro-Yoon group and support Kim, and as far as I know, the group of aides who advised and worked with Vice Chair Na two years ago are now almost all distancing themselves."
If she runs, she would inevitably show a 'non-Yoon' character. However, Yoo said, "If she shows a non-Yoon stance, our party members have a very strong resistance to internal criticism," adding, "If Vice Chair Na could change to the same stance as former leader Lee, it would be different, but that is unlikely."
