Annual Preservation Effect of 3,000 Trees
On the 10th, Lotte Mart announced that it will discontinue paper flyers after 25 years and take the lead in implementing green stores for the planet.
As part of its eco-friendly management, Lotte Mart will operate a newly revamped mobile flyer starting from the new year. By stopping the use of paper flyers, it will reduce paper consumption by about 150 tons annually. This is equivalent to preserving 3,000 20-year-old trees and reducing carbon emissions by approximately 16,000 kg per year.
The mobile flyer can be accessed through Lotte Mart's offline exclusive application, ‘Lotte Mart GO,’ or by scanning the QR code posted inside the stores. New updates and event information for the week are uploaded every Thursday at 9 a.m.
A Lotte Mart representative said, “To realize eco-friendly management and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values, we are completely discontinuing the use of single-use paper flyers that have been in operation for over 20 years and now aim to communicate with customers through mobile flyers. We will strive to continuously improve the mobile flyer and also consider various promotions in the future.”
