Year-Round Implementation to Revitalize Local Businesses

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it will promote a "Goheung Love Gift Certificate 10% Special Discount" until the end of December this year to provide economic benefits to residents struggling with rising prices and to increase sales for small business owners.

The Goheung Love Gift Certificate is a local love gift certificate issued to protect small business owners and local commercial districts and to revitalize the local economy. Last year, the county issued 37.5 billion KRW and sold 31.1 billion KRW through special discounts, recording a cumulative sales amount of 122 billion KRW to date.

Goheung-gun is implementing the special discount sale of the Goheung Love Gift Certificate throughout the year to help increase sales of small business owners and overcome the local economic downturn, so the sales amount of the gift certificates is expected to increase further.

The Goheung Love Gift Certificate is sold in two types: paper and card. Individuals can purchase up to 500,000 KRW per month at a 10% discount on the face value, while franchise owners and corporations (organizations) are restricted from purchasing at discounted prices.

The paper gift certificates can be purchased at 45 locations including local Nonghyup, Chukhyup, Suhyup, Saemaeul Geumgo, Shinhyup, and Forest Cooperatives, and can be used at 2,373 registered franchise stores (traditional markets, restaurants, marts, gas stations, pharmacies, etc.).

Additionally, the issuing institutions for the Goheung Love Card (card-type Goheung Love Gift Certificate), which could previously be issued through the Nonghyup or local gift certificate chak app, have been expanded so that the card can now also be issued at post offices.

The Goheung Love Card allows users to check card issuance, charging, usage history, and balance in real time through the "chak" app, and elderly residents or those who have difficulty using smartphones can also get the card issued and charged at Nonghyup and post offices.

A Goheung-gun official said, "Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, we ask for the cooperation of residents, institutions, and organizations to purchase the Goheung Love Gift Certificate to receive discount benefits, help small business owners struggling with COVID-19 and rising prices, and contribute to the local economy."
