[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Yeongam County announced on the 9th that it held the '2023 Seollal Jangsa Ssireum Tournament Progress Status 2nd Report Meeting' at the Nangsan Room of the county office.
The report meeting was attended by about 40 officials, including Woo Seung-hee, the governor of Yeongam County, to check the progress of each department's work for the Seollal Jangsa Ssireum Tournament and to discuss future plans and safety measures.
The '2023 Seollal Jangsa Ssireum Tournament' is scheduled to be held for six days from the 19th to the 24th at the Yeongam Indoor Gymnasium, where about 300 athletes from 25 teams nationwide will compete on the sand ring.
Governor Woo Seung-hee said, "It is meaningful that the Seollal Jangsa Ssireum Tournament is held in Yeongam, the center of Namdo cultural tourism," and added, "We will do our best to prepare the tournament so that both athletes and spectators can enjoy a safe and inclusive festival."
