[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The Seoul Metropolitan Government's Health and Environment Research Institute announced on the 9th at 3 PM that the fine dust (PM-10) advisory has been lifted.
As of 3 PM on the 9th, the hourly average concentration of fine dust (PM-10) in Seoul's atmosphere dropped to 94㎍/㎥, below the lifting criterion of 100㎍/㎥.
This fine dust originated from yellow dust generated on the 5th in northern China and the Gobi Desert, which flowed into the Korean Peninsula along the northwest wind, leading to the issuance of an advisory on the 7th. On the afternoon of the 9th, the high concentration was resolved due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Real-time air quality data, including ultrafine dust and fine dust, can be found on the ‘Seoul Metropolitan Air Environment Information’ website and the Mobile Seoul app.
