55 Eup, Myeon, and Dong Selected as Civil Service Centers

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam has selected 55 locations including Changwon city’s eup, myeon, dong offices and civil service centers to expand the pilot operation of the ‘Civil Service Office Lunch Break Closure System’ starting from the 16th.

Based on the results of the pilot operation conducted at 10 selected locations?operating every Wednesday in November 2022 and five days a week in December?the city will expand the second pilot operation to 55 locations from the 16th until the end of February, and plans to extend it to all 79 eup, myeon, dong offices and civil service centers in March.

The 55 locations for the second pilot operation include ▲24 civil service centers in Changwon city ▲Uichang-gu administrative welfare centers in Dong-eup, Daesan-myeon, Uichang-dong, Myeonggok-dong, Bongnim-dong ▲Seongsan-gu administrative welfare centers in Bansong-dong, Jungang-dong, Yongji-dong, Sangnam-dong, Sapa-dong, Gaeumjeong-dong ▲Masan Happo-gu administrative welfare centers in Gusan-myeon, Jindong-myeon, Hyeon-dong, Gapodong, Munhwa-dong, Jasan-dong, Wanwol-dong, Sanho-dong ▲Masan Hoewon-gu administrative welfare centers in Hoewon 1-dong, Yangdeok 1-dong, Hapjeong 2-dong, Guam 1-dong, Bongam-dong, Hoeseong-dong ▲Jinhae-gu administrative welfare centers in Chungmu-dong, Idong, Pungho-dong, Ungcheon-dong, Ungdong 2-dong, Seok-dong.

The city is conducting extensive publicity through banners, signboards, electronic displays, and group SNS communication channels, while guiding citizens to use the Government24 website and 131 unmanned civil service issuance machines within the jurisdiction to minimize inconvenience.

Without visiting government offices, individuals can use personal computers to access Government24 for family relation certificates issuance. Government24 provides over 1,000 types of certificate services such as moving-in reports and resident registration copies (original and abstract), as well as information on nationwide unmanned civil service issuance machines and their locations.

The Supreme Court’s Family Relations Registration System allows free issuance of various documents such as family relation certificates, basic certificates, and marriage relation certificates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, “By gradually implementing the pilot operation of the civil service office lunch break closure system, we aim to raise citizens’ awareness and guarantee civil service workers time to recharge, enabling us to provide denser and better administrative services without any work gaps after 1 p.m.” He added, “We ask for the active support and cooperation of all citizens.”
