[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Yi-gang) announced on the 9th that from the 14th to the 21st, a 'Seol Holiday Onnuri Gift Certificate Refund Event' will be held at three traditional markets within Yangdong Traditional Market: Yangdong Market, Yangdong Dried Seafood Market, and Yangdong Fisheries Market.
This event involves 187 stores within the market, including those selling domestic seafood, dried seafood, and salted seafood products.
Visitors to the market can visit the refund booth with the purchase receipt and ID from the same day at participating stores to receive a refund of up to 30% of the domestic seafood purchase amount, with a maximum of 20,000 KRW per person, in Onnuri gift certificates.
Yangdong Traditional Market will conduct a special discount sale of Onnuri gift certificates until the 31st to stimulate consumer sentiment and promote sales of small business products in celebration of the Seol holiday.
During the discount sale period, the discount rate for card-type and mobile gift certificates will be increased from the existing 5% to 10%, and the monthly purchase limit per person will be raised from 500,000 KRW to 700,000 KRW for paper-type certificates, and from 700,000 KRW to 1,000,000 KRW for card-type and mobile certificates.
A Seo-gu official said, "We hope that this event will help traditional markets regain their lively atmosphere during the Seol holiday when consumer spending increases," and added, "We wish all residents a joyful holiday at the traditional markets where fresh and high-quality seafood can be purchased at affordable prices."
