[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do operates the ‘Safe Restaurant Designation System’ to spread hygienic and advanced dining-out culture, enhancing consumer trust in dining out and competitiveness of the dining industry.
According to the county on the 9th, a Safe Restaurant is a restaurant that basically complies with the three major dining culture improvement rules: providing utensils for serving oneself, hygienic management of spoons and chopsticks and quarantine management, and employees wearing masks.
Currently, Yeonggwang-gun has designated 87 Safe Restaurants and aims to designate 15 more among general restaurants in the area.
Applications for Safe Restaurant designation are possible for restaurants that practice the three designated requirements above.
Businesses wishing to become Safe Restaurants can apply to the Sports Industry Division Hygiene Team of the county, and the designation will be decided after an on-site inspection.
Once designated as a Safe Restaurant, a Safe Restaurant designation sticker will be attached, and benefits such as support for hygiene products related to food culture improvement, guidance and promotion on the county website will be provided. Restaurants that do not comply with the three designation requirements will have their designation canceled.
County Governor Kang Jongman said, “Through the Safe Restaurant Designation System, we will do our best to ensure that residents can enjoy a healthy and safe dining life by preventing infectious diseases and improving a healthy dining culture.”
