[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The 'Ulsan Welfare Family Promotion Social Service Center,' which will serve as the hub for the welfare project promoted by Ulsan City, is launching.

Ulsan City announced that on the 9th at 3:30 PM, it will hold the launch and inauguration ceremony of the 'Ulsan Welfare Family Promotion Social Service Center' at the 4th-floor auditorium of the center in Samsan-dong, Nam-gu, with Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom and Director Jeong Cheon-seok in attendance.

The Ulsan Welfare Family Promotion Social Service Center, a foundation corporation, is a city-funded institution that integrates the existing 'Women and Family Development Institute' and 'Social Service Center,' with its headquarters located in Samsan-dong, Nam-gu.

The organization consists of 28 staff members, 2 headquarters (Women and Family Policy Headquarters, Social Service Support Headquarters), 1 office (Management Support Office), and 4 teams (Welfare Family Policy Research Team, Gender Equality Policy Research Team, Private Sector Support Team, Facility Operation Team).

Earlier in August, Ulsan City promoted the integration of welfare-related public institutions to reduce inefficiencies occurring in the delivery of welfare services and to actively respond to the newly changing welfare demands.

Instead of consolidating overlapping administrative functions into one place, Ulsan City plans to invigorate welfare projects through the expertise accumulated by each institution and collaboration between projects.

From January, the Family Culture Center and Women’s Workforce Development Center, which had been operated by the Ulsan Facilities Corporation, will be entrusted and operated by the Ulsan Welfare Family Promotion Social Service Center.

Additionally, it will function as a think tank that conducts more comprehensive research beyond the perspectives of women or welfare alone, and serve as a welfare hub that provides and supports comprehensive social service information.

Furthermore, for private welfare facilities, the center plans to strengthen cooperative projects such as consulting on accounting, personnel, and labor, as well as education and field support to respond to the changing welfare environment.

First Director Jeong Cheon-seok said, “Through the launch of the Ulsan Welfare Family Promotion Social Service Center, we will establish expertise encompassing all areas of welfare including women, children, and the elderly, and improve the quality of welfare services.”
