Bus Collision Accident in Senegal, Africa... 38 Dead

At least 38 people were killed and 87 injured when two buses collided in Senegal, Africa, according to AFP and other foreign news agencies on the 8th (local time).

According to Cheikh Fall, head of the Senegalese fire department, the accident occurred around 3:15 a.m. on the No. 1 road passing through central Kaprin. He said, "There are a total of 125 casualties, of which 38 have died," adding, "Authorities transported the injured to hospitals and cleared the debris, after which road traffic resumed."

The exact cause of the accident is not yet known. Although traffic accidents, both large and small, frequently occur in Senegal due to poor road conditions and many aging vehicles, this accident had an especially high number of casualties.

Senegalese President Macky Sall declared a three-day national mourning period to honor the victims of the accident.
