Jinju City Council "Greatly Welcomes LH Innovation Plan Without Separation of Organization and Functions"

Jinju City Council in Gyeongnam is announcing an official statement regarding the LH innovation plan.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] As the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport proposed an innovation plan without organizational or functional separation to enable LH to function according to its original purpose, Jinju City Council announced an official statement on the innovation plan and expressed its welcome on the 9th.

Through the statement, the Jinju City Council of Gyeongnam said, "The organizational restructuring plan for functional separation of LH, which local residents were concerned about, has been discarded," and urged the government to support the success of Jinju Innovation City under the grand principle of national balanced development.

They also conveyed, "Citizens expect that various local contribution projects, along with the economic effects generated by public institutions including LH in accordance with the purpose of the innovation city, will continue," revealing expectations for LH's future role in the region.

The City Council stated, "We will always seek proper alternatives so that the local community and citizens are not alienated or harmed."

Since 2021, the City Council has participated in the Gyeongnam Jinju Innovation City Protection Pan-Citizen Movement Headquarters, allied with civil society, and actively opposed the dismantling of LH, the core of Jinju Innovation City, through immediate opposition statements, regional and National Assembly/Blue House relay solo protests, and other actions.
