[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Virtual character specialist company 'Scon' is partnering with creator Daewolhyang to hold a virtual YouTuber (VTuber) audition called the 'Blue Jump Project.'
Daewolhyang is a virtual streamer who operates on Twitch and YouTube without revealing her face. Using the virtual reality social platform VRChat, she is fluent in English and Japanese and has approximately 940,000 YouTube subscribers. Scon is a virtual specialist company that developed the virtual YouTuber solution 'Michu.' They have produced over 100 types of 3D original characters, including Kur for Korea Yakult.
Through this project, Scon and Daewolhyang plan to discover and nurture creators. Up to three candidates will be selected through a total of four audition rounds, and the final successful applicants will debut as Scon-affiliated virtual YouTubers this summer.
The recruitment target is women aged 18 or older who have no contractual relationship with any agency. Pre-registration closes on the 20th, and the first public audition will be broadcast live at 5 p.m. on the 28th on Daewolhyang's personal Twitch channel.
Daewolhyang, who oversees the audition, said, "Regardless of appearance or age, we plan to select people who have passion and earnestness for broadcasting to help them achieve their dream of becoming VTubers."
Kijunsoo, CEO of Scon, stated, "We previously focused on virtual YouTuber software development, but now we will expand our business areas to character IP and content."
