She started as a Grade 9 public official at Yeongdeungpo District Office in 1985, worked there for 10 years, then transferred to Seoul City, marking 27 years this year.

Having worked for 37 years at Seoul City, she held key positions such as Director of Personnel and Director of Housing Policy before being promoted to Grade 3 (Deputy Director General), becoming a legendary public official.

She is especially recognized as one of the very few female public officials who started at Grade 9 and rose to Grade 3.

Even those who start at Grade 5 after passing the civil service exam find it difficult to reach Grade 3, so there is a reason why Deputy Mayor Kim Seonsu of Yongsan-gu, who started at Grade 9 and was promoted to Grade 3, is called a 'legendary female public official' in Seoul's history.

Deputy Mayor Kim was appointed as Deputy Mayor of Yongsan-gu as of January 1.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon is understood to have appointed the capable Deputy Mayor Kim to help overcome the difficult situation of the Yongsan District Mayor being detained due to the Itaewon tragedy.

Jung Seong-hoon, Director of Administration at Seoul City, expressed confidence, saying, "I believe Deputy Mayor Kim Seonsu will do well."

Deputy Mayor Kim is quietly carrying out her duties as acting district mayor since District Mayor Park Hee-young was detained due to the Itaewon tragedy.

She did not hold an inauguration ceremony and spent the past week receiving reports from each department to understand the district administration situation.

Since all district office employees are going through a difficult time, she appears to be quietly assessing the work. She is expected to visit the field next week.

A director from Yongsan-gu said, "Deputy Mayor Kim Seonsu quietly assessed the work after her appointment."

Deputy Mayor Kim is expected to first heal the hearts of the wounded employees. It is known that about 150 employees are on leave, indicating many are struggling.

She is expected to create a stable public service atmosphere together with them and provide better administrative services to the residents of Yongsan-gu.

Deputy Mayor Kim also stated, "I plan to devote myself to creating a good workplace atmosphere together with the employees first."
