[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is recruiting students for the ‘Gangnaminga’ online lecture program to ease private education expenses and assist with college entrance preparation.

Since 2021, the district has partnered with Gangnam-gu Office through a joint usage agreement to support the tuition fees for the internet-based college entrance exam broadcast ‘Gangnaminga’ for middle and high school students in the area.

Applications are open from January 16 to 20 for 500 middle and high school students residing in Gwangjin-gu or attending schools within the district.

The annual tuition fee is 45,000 KRW, but students only need to pay 10,000 KRW, with the district covering the remainder. Students can freely access lectures in major subjects including Korean, English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science for one year, and account sharing among siblings is allowed.

Gangnaminga offers the advantage of providing high-quality educational content at an affordable price. Current teachers and star instructors deliver customized lectures in three stages: concept mastery, advanced learning, and problem solving.

A total of 1,247 lectures are registered, focusing on school curriculum to help students improve their grades.

Applications can be made by accessing the QR code (photo), and the lottery results will be notified via text message on the 30th of this month.

Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We are recruiting participants to relieve parents’ private education expenses and provide beneficial lectures for students,” adding, “We hope many will apply and gain help in improving their academic performance.”
