Choi Tae-won, Chairman of SK Group, visited the SK booth at CES 2023, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas on the 6th (local time). Although he had canceled his attendance schedule due to his secretary testing positive for COVID-19, he made a surprise appearance that day.
Chairman Choi, the only head of the four major Korean conglomerates attending this year's CES, carefully toured the SK booth and commented, "The exhibition related to net zero (carbon neutrality) was well done." After the booth tour, he moved to a food truck set up by SK outside the Central Hall and tasted cream cheese and ice cream made from alternative plant-based protein.
Choi Jae-won, Senior Vice Chairman of SK On and younger brother of Chairman Choi, visited the SK booth the day before. He wore SK Biopharm's wearable device smart glasses and experienced a model of Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
Jung Ki-sun, CEO of HD Hyundai, delivered the keynote speech at the HD Hyundai press conference on the 4th, a day before CES opened, and attended a press briefing immediately afterward. On the second day of the opening, the 6th, he visited Samsung Electronics, SK, LG Electronics, Hyundai Mobis, Brunswick, John Deere, Caterpillar, and others in succession, saying, "I was able to gain a lot of inspiration and ideas by seeing the visions and technological capabilities of global companies."
Gu Ja-eun, Chairman of LS Group, and Chung Yong-jin, Vice Chairman of Shinsegae Group, also visited CES and toured Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics in turn. Chairman Gu said about his impressions of the Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics booths, "As expected, LG and Samsung," adding, "I am proud that there are global companies competing head-to-head in Korea." Vice Chairman Chung visited the LG Electronics exhibition hall, looked around the 'OLED Horizon' at the entrance with LG Electronics CEO Cho Joo-wan, and met CEO Jung at the HD Hyundai booth to hear explanations about autonomous navigation technology.
Shin Dong-bin, Chairman of Lotte Group, and his eldest son Shin Yoo-yeol, Managing Director of Lotte Chemical's Japan branch, also appeared at CES. Managing Director Shin toured Samsung Electronics and SK booths together with Kim Gyo-hyun, Vice Chairman of Lotte Chemical.
