Gwangyang Steelworks Holds New Year Safety Campaign

All Employees United in One Mind and Purpose Join Safety Campaign

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (Director Lee Jin-su) announced on the 6th that it reaffirmed its commitment to safety in the new year.

Gwangyang Steelworks, which has designated "Safety" as its top core value for 2023, conducted a main gate safety campaign to establish autonomous safety mutualism and improve safety mindset by adhering to Rules & Processes.

The safety campaign is being carried out twice a week during commuting hours at the main gate, Gate 1, and Gate 2 until the 31st of this month, with about 150 officials including Director Lee Jin-su, deputy directors, department and group leaders, and safety part leaders participating.

The promotional activities, conducted over a total of nine sessions, utilized slogans such as ▲Don't risk your life, wear a safety belt ▲Be safer today than yesterday ▲Strict compliance with safety measures ▲Stop first at railroad crossings.

In particular, the slogan related to TBM (Tool Box Meeting) activities, where supervisors confirm and discuss work details and safety measures before starting work, drew attention by resonating with employees.

Department-level safety campaigns were also actively conducted.

Department officials held safety campaigns at the entrances of sub-centers located in each factory, encouraging employees' safety activities.

Additionally, the Gwangyang Steelworks Safety and Disaster Prevention Group participated in on-site safety activities by inspecting the ILS (Isolation Locking System) and safety facilities operated across all factories.

Meanwhile, Gwangyang Steelworks is actively striving to achieve a zero-accident steelworks by ▲risk assessment ▲work standards, TBM, worker integration ▲establishing a sustainable safety management system ▲building a safety distance measurement system for cargo cranes.
